As part of the Ballantine’s True Music Fund, shesaid.so is introducing a mentorship program to provide recipients with tailored guidance and industry support alongside their grant. This is the first time mentoring has been incorporated into the fund, making it a unique opportunity for artists, collectives, and music organizations to receive both financial backing and expert advice. Each of the eight recipients will be paired with an industry mentor, selected based on their project’s focus and goals, ensuring they receive relevant insights, strategic direction, and the tools needed to navigate the music industry effectively.
The mentorship program will offer one-on-one sessions, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities, creating a structured yet flexible support system. Whether developing a release strategy, refining a live event concept, or strengthening a business plan, recipients will gain practical knowledge and industry connections to help turn their vision into reality. By integrating mentorship with funding, shesaid.so and Ballantine’s True Music Fund aim to foster sustainable, long-term impact in the music community, empowering recipients to grow their projects with confidence and creativity.
Ballantine’s, Scotch whisky, has announced the return of its True Music Fund, now open for applications. To date, the initiative has supported over 30 music collectives and will have committed £500,000 in funding by the end of 2025.
This year, Ballantine’s is offering £100,000 to help individuals and organisations bring their dream music projects to life. Applications are open to anyone with a passion for music with the fund helping to unlock that creative part of you and help you push play. Eight recipients will receive a share of the funding, along with mentorship from industry experts, propelling their dream music project into life whilst staying true to themselves and doing things their own way.
The 2025 edition of Ballantine’s True Music Fund is powered by shesaid.so, a global community of women, gender nonconforming people and allies in the music industry. With a common pursuit of self-expression and equity in the music space, it felt like a natural fit for the two partners to join forces and support those needing resources to realise their dream projects, whilst promoting diversity and inclusion within industry.
Recipients of the grant will be paired with an established industry expert as their mentor, selected based on their ability to help unlock their passion in music and assist in amplifying their voices in the relevant space. With the support of Ballantine’s and shesaid.so’s far-reaching networks, the eight recipients will be able to turn their music dreams into a reality.
Push play on your dream music project with Ballantine’s True Music Fund powered by shesaid.so.
Applications Close: Midnight GMT 14th March 2025.
