This year has been all about celebrating our 10th anniversary, always with a focus on our community—helping members grow their skills, expand their networks, and discover the best industry opportunities. From our we.grow mentoring program and programming at ADE, to sharing opportunities for artists with Marshall, Roundhouse and ALLIES Epidemic Sound and taking part in impactful panels and events with Red Bull, NTIA, and Beyond the Music.
A highlight at the end of the year has been our partnership with Ballantine’s True Music. As part of this partnership, the Ballantine’s True Music Fund ‘25, powered by shesaid.so, we’re offering 8 grants ranging from £5k to £30k, along with mentorship, to help turn your ideas into reality.
Chapters
shesaid.so Amsterdam had a milestone year in 2024, achieving official foundation (stichting) status with ANBI recognition, launching their new website, and running impactful initiatives like the Women in Hip Hop Mentorship program. They also hosted standout events at ADE, offering free professional headshots and mentorship opportunities, all while continuing to provide free access to their community-driven events. These achievements highlight their commitment to making the music industry a more inclusive and supportive space.
shesaid.so Portugal celebrated a milestone at MIL 2024 (Music Convention in Lisbon), marking the 10-year anniversary of the global shesaid.so community with a day of meaningful discussions and celebrations. On Friday, September 27th, the shesaid.so 🇵🇹 Space in the Marsha Room hosted two standout events.
The morning featured PONTES: Dialogue on Gender Diversity, a safe and inclusive conversation circle led by FLECHA, where parents and carers shared experiences and strategies to support gender diversity in family contexts.
The day concluded with a lively 10th Anniversary Cocktail Party, held outdoors, bringing together community members and music professionals to celebrate a decade of shesaid.so’s contributions to the industry. It was a powerful day of connection and celebration at the heart of MIL 2024.
The shesaid.so Montréal chapter has been steadily building its impact with key initiatives, including the second year of the Crescendo Mentorship Program in partnership with Musicaction, which pairs senior industry professionals with emerging Québec artists. They’ve also collaborated with Moonshine Montréal’s Club Sagacité on workshops exploring intersectional approaches to the music industry and are planning a Music Marketing Bootcamp with Women in Music Montreal in September, alongside a meet-up during MUTEK Festival 2024.
The shesaid.so Miami chapter has had an exciting year, starting with a standout presence at the UNSiN 2024 Music Conference & Festival in April. Francesca participated in an engaging panel discussion, offering valuable insights during the vibrant two-day event, which featured talks, live music, and a flea market, creating a hub for networking and innovation.
In June, the chapter hosted a memorable community event in collaboration with the Rhythm Foundation at the Miami Beach Bandshell, where members enjoyed a free concert featuring Dav Julca and Friends, along with small bites and drinks, fostering connections in a lively atmosphere.
shesaid.so France hosted various events including the “Artistes, parlons d’argent, gagnons du pouvoir!” on November 22, 2024, at Canal 93. The event brought together artists and music professionals for a day of meaningful discussions, workshops, and networking, all focused on promoting inclusivity within the rap and music industries.
The program included a masterclass, a talk, an open mic, and a networking session, creating a space for women and marginalized groups to better understand the economic realities of independent music careers. Organized in partnership with MAAD 93 as part of the HIP-HOP DEV 93 initiative, the event highlighted strategies for navigating the industry and strengthening professional networks.
shesaid.so Nordic (Norway, Sweden, Finland) collaborated with the Nordic Music Leaders Network to present “The Leadership Playlist,” a webinar series designed for mid-career women*, trans, and non-binary professionals in the music industry. Held between September and October 2024, the sessions focused on addressing common challenges in the industry.
Hosted by Tamara Gal-On, co-founder of Music Leaders Network, the series included:
Communicate with Confidence (25th September): Tips for improving communication styles in the workplace.
Network with Impact (10th October): Practical advice on building meaningful industry connections.
Lead with Your Values (22nd October): Exploring how personal values can shape authentic leadership.
The webinars offered a space for participants across the Nordic and Baltic regions to learn and connect, with tools and strategies to support their career development.
